A study was conducted in Finland in which they wanted to examine how will a protein source affect the reduction of cholesterol. One group had a 70/30 percent animal to plant protein diet, second 50/50 and the third 30/70 plant to animal protein source.


After 12 weeks, results were showing that the plant-based diet is the most effective option when it comes to lowering your cholesterol levels.


With that in mind, here are some tips on how to avoid cardiovascular problems:


- Eat less red meat

- Avoid processed meats,

- Eat more legumes,

- Drink plant-based milk,

- Eat more nuts, seeds and whole grains
