Underrated/Overrated Foods

Nowadays, we are overloaded with information about what to eat and what not to eat, and, although there is a lot of quality advice backed by science, sometimes it may seem boring even at the first look, nevertheless.

To put it simply, too much information, too little time to absorb everything.

So, I have a new mini-campaign where I’ll talk about food that is underrated/overrated, what is healthy and what is not, so stick with me.

✅ Underrated/Overrated Foods ✅

🟠 Agave Nectar > Overrated

Like many plants, agave has some health benefits.

However, similarly to most foods you can buy at the supermarkets, it’s refined and processed, so there are not a lot of health benefits left, unfortunately.

It's processed so much that it is said to be 150 times sweeter and higher in sugar than actual table sugar.

🟠 Raw Honey > Underrated

Most of the honey you can find in the grocery stores is pasteurized. The high heat kills the unwanted yeast, can improve the color and texture, removes any crystallization, and extends the shelf life. However, many of the beneficial nutrients are also destroyed in the process.

So, my suggestion is to buy raw honey from the local beekeepers.

Why is Raw Honey a much better option?

- A good source of antioxidants

- Antibacterial and antifungal properties

- Heals wounds

- Phytonutrient powerhouse

- Helps with digestive issues

- Soothes a sore throat

🟠 Egg Whites > Overrated

Let me be clear.

Egg whites are not unhealthy. They are just overrated.

Nowadays, you can often hear in the media that dietary cholesterol and saturated fats from foods like egg yolk are problematic.

That is an absolute myth and it has to be ended.

Much better option is to eat the whole egg as a good source of protein, healthy fats and vitamins.

I hope you’ve found this format much easier for reading.

Let me know what you think. What would you like me to cover next time?
