Underrated/Overrated

We do many things without being sure why are we doing them at all, or fully aware of whether they are good for us, and to what extent. So, my goal with this post is to raise awareness and educate people to help them make better choices that affect their health in some beneficial ways.💚

Vinegar - underrated 🍇

Vinegar should be a mainstay in every health-conscious household or kitchen.

There is strong evidence that vinegar can help with weight loss and the control of blood sugar levels. Vinegar is a strong acid and it is a very good alternative for giving food some additional flavor without adding any weight-boosting calories or blood pressure - raising sodium. It contains a nice dose of polyphenols that act as antioxidants. 🍏

Also, it can slow the rate of digestion and possibly suppress hunger hormones.

Garlic - Underrated 🧄

It is one of the most underrated superfoods. 🦸

Garlic is very common in every kitchen. But even despite that fact, people are generally not aware enough of the benefits it provides.

Garlic contains Manganese, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Selenium, Fibre, Calcium, Copper, Potassium, Iron, and Vitamin B1. In addition, it is highly nutritious and low in calories.

It can combat sickness and illnesses (especially the common cold) and it is good for the immune system. No need to mention that it is also a great idea to always carry it with you in case you need it to ward off the vampires🧛

Crunches - Overrated 🆙

Not only that they are overrated, but for some, they can even be dangerous.

According to Dr.Stuart McGill, crunches – also known as sit-ups - are one of the worst exercises you could do. “If you take a wire coat hanger and bend it over and over again, eventually the metal will fatigue and break,” he explained. “The same theory applies to your spine.”

A good alternative for this exercise is any type of plank or any other anti-rotational core exercise.
