Stress causes poor quality of sleep. Get some quality rest!

We all probably remember those sleepless nights before important events? It is a typical reaction of our brain to stress… 😳

➡️ One of the main questions I ask my clients who have sleeping problems is how much they are exposed to stress.

Stress is a widespread cause of poor sleep, which will most likely severely affect your diet.

It is the circle we need to break, so I always recommend doing things that will help relieve the stress we aggregate daily.

Part of the brain that influences cortisol has to be turned off to relax and enter deep recovery while we are sleeping.

When we are chronically stressed, this part of our nervous system goes into overdrive, sending information about potential threats almost all the time.

To rest better, we need to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest part of the brain).

This will help us to stay relaxed in stressful situations.

Here are some hacks to ease stress and sleep better:

✅ Reduce blue light exposure in the evening

✅ Don’t consume caffeine late in the day

✅ Reduce daytime naps

✅ Sleep and wake at consistent times

✅ Use melatonin supplements

✅ Don’t eat late

✅ Set your bedroom environment

✅ Take a bath

✅ Get a comfortable bed

✅ Exercise during the day
